The level of training and support required to implement Schwartz Rounds varies depending on the size and scope of your organisation. Use the tabs below to find the information that is most relevant to your organisation.

Many organisations find funds for Schwartz Rounds by working with their hospital charity or a local charity. If you would like to speak to someone about your funding options, please contact us.

Schwartz Rounds are running in more than 140 NHS trusts; while the majority of trusts running Rounds are in the acute setting, there are also community, mental health and ambulance trusts running Rounds.

Schwartz Rounds are currently running in more than 35 hospices across the UK. St Joseph’s Hospice in East London was the first to start running Schwartz Rounds, back in 2011. You can watch a video demonstration of a Round at St Joseph’s on our YouTube channel.

Schwartz Rounds are currently running in 40 universities across the UK. University College London Medical School was the first institution to provide Rounds for its students in 2014.

Since then, more universities have followed suit and in 2016, the University of Liverpool won the award for Best Schwartz Round Innovation for their work to introduce multidisciplinary Schwartz Rounds for their healthcare students.
