New Schwartz Round film

A film of a Schwartz Round, made at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust, is now available on our website.

It is very unusual for Schwartz Rounds to be recorded or shared in this way. The film was made with the prior agreement of participants, in the understanding that the film would be published on our website to help explain the nature of Rounds. We are grateful to everyone involved in the making of this film.

The Point of Care Foundation said: “The film condenses a full one-hour session down into ten minutes, enabling us to show the basic structure of a Round and give a sense of how the facilitation of the meetings works, as well as showing some of the emotions expressed in Rounds. This Round dealt with the care of a very sick baby. It’s not easy to watch but does give a good illustration of how people working in healthcare can work through some of the emotionally difficult aspects of their jobs through Schwartz Rounds.”
